Work like a pro and show up no matter what
You must have heard that actors need to be good at facing rejection. As an actor you also have to be flexible, adapt to all kinds of circumstances and work with different types of people. Being an actor, in a way is like any other job, therefore work ethic and professional attitude are highly valued.
Having talent can take you far, but being reliable, respectful, professional and solution-oriented are qualities that will make people want to work with you over and over again.
When things don't go as planned, you have to improvise!
On our last showreel shoot, unfortunately we were not able to record a scene that two of our students have been preparing for for quite some time.
One of them, due to unexpected events, was unable to make it to the shoot.
In the end we were left with less than an hour to come up with an idea and execute it.
Our actors, Olivia Bella and Tariq Amawi ended up improvising a completely new comedic scene on the spot. And while it's not what Olivia has been working on previously, they both have demonstrated their creativity and improvisation skills. Apart from that, it was also a lot of fun!

Our story can serve as a good reminder that no matter what, you have to show up and make the best of your current situation. It shows willingness and professionalism.
