Marbella Film School Students Walking the Red Carpet

The Marbella International Film Festival just ended a few days ago.

Two of our girls Oliva Bella and Tiana Smith who both work and study at Marbella Film School were there to give you the insiders’ perspective after an intense five days of fun, world premieres, networking and fancy parties.

Here’s what they have to say.

Olivia:

Sometimes you just need to take risks and get out of your comfort zone!

It all started last year by me sending out an email to the Marbella International Film Festival, offering to help out.

I had nothing lose, and this year I ended up doing TV, Radio and red carpet interviews with celebrities such as Kris Marshall, Frances Barber and Craig Fairbrass and becoming the local coordinator of the event. That also meant doing a press conference in Spanish!

I also assisted during the award ceremony, handing out the awards. It was so much fun!

And of course, the festival was a great excuse to dress up and go to exclusive parties I might not go otherwise.

Needless to say, I had a chance to meet and network with some truly amazing filmmakers from around the world!

Don’t wait until you’re ready - to learn on the job is often the best experience, even if it feels challenging at times.

As an actor, you often have to improvise and make decisions on the spot.

Tiana:

I was offered the opportunity to help out at the Marbella Film Festival by another student and colleague, Olivia, who is one of the organisers, and I have to say it's the best thing I have ever done.

After leaving school to focus on film and acting, I felt lost. But after continuing with my acting journey at Marbella Film School, opportunities have appeared and I am so grateful and looking forward to the future.

I never imagined a year ago, that the following year I would be helping at a massive festival, walking red carpets with celebrities and gaining advice from professionals in the industry, from which I will stick by and work hard from! ✌🏻
